About LakeErie.biz

LakeErie.biz is a directory of fishing charter captains for the Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and Michigan waters of Lake Erie. It does three things: helps you find a captain by port or name, shows whether that captain appears on a state's public list (and the date of that list), and gets you to the captain's phone or website.

We don't book trips. You arrange and pay for your trip with the captain. We never take bookings, deposits, commissions or messages between anglers and captains.

How we're paid. Captains pay a flat fee to list ($49 for 12 months), and some buy a labelled Featured spot on a port page. Fish-cleaning, bait & tackle and taxidermy businesses can buy a labelled Sponsored spot. We also sell a $29 guide for people starting a charter. That's all. We don't sell data or track you. Some pages also show one banner ad from AdEngine, the small ad network WeldonPC runs; for now it shows WeldonPC's own services and sets no cookies (how it works).

Where our information comes from. Ohio entries come from the Ohio Division of Wildlife's public list of licensed Lake Erie fishing guides, as published and dated. Pennsylvania badges come from matching listings to the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission's permit report. Rules, fees and limits come from each agency's own pages and regulations, each with the date we checked it. Sources

What a badge means. A badge repeats what a public list showed on a date. It isn't an endorsement. We don't inspect boats or check insurance or Coast Guard credentials.

Independence. LakeErie.biz is run by WeldonPC, an Ohio business. We're not affiliated with or endorsed by any agency, park, charter boat association or tourism organization.
